BEN & JEN... GONE AGAIN
ABOUT US
We're Ben & Jen Gumienny. Married 17 happy years. Committed to building the Kingdom of God through love and service. Our two previous years living in Thailand caused us to fall in love with Asia, and we are delighted to be settling now in Malaysia!
Follow our journey as we seek to grow in God through seeking His presence, taking leaps of faith, connecting with people, travelling the nations, pursuing passion, and hopefully laughing and learning and having a lot of fun along the way.

F.A.Q's
Q: What is your purpose?
A: In short, to build up and strengthen the body of Christ in SE Asia.
Q: Why are you living overseas?
A: When we sought God about the who, what, where, when and hows of this trip before we left, He said, "First Go - then it will unfold"... so in faith we have arrived and are seeing the pieces come together. Our spiritual family in Penang is PenHOP (Penang House of Prayer), where we serve in worship and prayer and community development, and are covered by the leadership. Currently Ben is teaching English at a local language centre called Dynamic Kids building significant relationships with students and teachers alike. He also hosts several weekly mentoring meetings for brothers in the faith. Jen offers trauma counselling to those in need, and facilitates two prayer altars every week for Christian business leaders. We occasionally run spiritual development workshops for the various communities we are involved in. We have also been doing some freelance Christian writing and editing for a non-profit organisation called Nehemiah Project.
Q: How are we financed?
A: We are supported partially through teaching and online freelance work as well as through donations from individuals and churches back home. Our heart is to do as much ministry in the surrounding nations as possible, so contributions are greatly appreciated, as they free our time to focus on our purpose here.
Q: What denomination are you with?
A: We are supported through different churches of various denominations. Eastside City Church in Calgary, Alberta is an MFI church, and The House/Evangel in Kelowna BC is a Pentecostal church. We were also both raised in the Catholic church, and have a love for liturgical expressions of faith. In other words we are very multi-denominational at heart and connect with a wide breadth of Christian organisations.
